*SENIOR ASSOCIATE – TRANSACTION TAXATION *
Practice: Taxation & Regulatory Practice of BMR & Associates
Job Location: Delhi
*Responsibilities:*
· The jobholder will be responsible for diligently supporting various M&A activities and consistently meeting deadline on client work and varied internal assignments.
· The jobholder will be working very closely with AD/Manager responsible for timely execution of assignments in Transaction support and develop existing client relationships.
*Main Priorities:*
· Understanding and analysis of business operations, financial statements applicable tax provisions and legal statements.
· Research and analysis of relevant information for a project.
· Understanding the nuances of tax and regulatory aspects such as income-tax, stamp duty, foreign investment and foreign exchange provisions specifically in the context of tax related project advisory & transaction support.
· High quality presentations, reports, memos, emails (internal and external).
· Understanding and analysis of business operations, industry, financial statements, applicable tax provisions, commercial agreements.

Experience Required: Upto 2 year of post qualification experience in: · Day to day compliance and advisory experience in company law, income tax, FIPB/ FDI, FEMA etc. · Preferably should have experience working with Japanese clients
Responsibility: · The jobholder will be responsible for diligently supporting various compliance/ consulting activities required for Japanese business group and consistently meeting deadline on client work and varied internal assignments. · The jobholder will be working very closely with the Partner/ Manager/ AM responsible for assignments in relation to Japanese business group. The said assignments would demand knowledge of various laws including but not limited to income tax, company law, FIPB/ FDI, FEMA,.
Main priorities of the role are as following: · Corporate law compliances such as company incorporation/ liaison office/ branch office/ project office, regular company law compliances etc
· Corporate law advisory including knowledge on provisions on buyback/ capital reduction and repatriation strategies, inter company transactions, directors, etc · Income tax compliances such as obtaining PAN, TAN, withholding tax returns, annual corporate tax returns, personal taxation for local employees and expatriates etc
· Income tax advisory on issues relating to business connection, permanent establishment, tax residential status, fees for technical services, royalty, withholding tax, capital gains, tax impact on repatriation strategies, etc · Working knowledge of foreign investment guidelines, FEMA, industrial policy
· Preparation of effective presentations, reports, memos, emails (internal and external) · Interface with regulatory authorities, bankers, local consultants etc · Understanding and analysis of business operations, industry, financial statements, applicable tax provisions, commercial agreements. · Carrying out effective market research needed for relevant data collection. · Assist in any other work that an assignment/ client demands.

Qualifications: · CA is must. Preferably from 2008/ 2007/ 2009 batch. Additional qualification of LLB will be a bonus

Experience: 1-2 years post qualification experience in CORPORATE TAX ADVISORY/ CORPORATE LAW is required.
Responsibilities: The incumbent will support to reporting senior in completing time bound deliverables. Assisting in corporate/ business restructuring related services and associated tax & regulatory advisory. Carrying out technical research required for delivering on the job. Assisting in advising on basic technical/ advisory issues.
Main Priorities of the role are as following:

Experience Required: Prior experience of reaching companies, analyzing industry-wide and company-specific trends, macroeconomic events, merger and acquisition activity. Prior work experience of working as a research analyst is critical. Familiarization with tools: software tools, databases and processes like general M&A/ Tax guidelines is required .
